The federal government has awarded $7.7 million to the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso as part of $1.8 billion in grants awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Housing Authority officials will use the money to help maintain the units already under its control. The $7.7 million is the second largest award received by a housing authority in Texas, the first being San Antonio.
