The Housing Authority of the City of El Paso (HACEP) has weathered the austerity storm relatively well, and officials from other cities are taking notice. Most recently, Baltimore officials visited El Paso to get a up close look at how HACEP's approach to diminishing budgets has been largely successful.
Previously, Housing Authority folks from Fresno and Vancouver had visited El Paso to also speak with HACEP officials. HACEP has streamlined processes and reduced paperwork in its effort to deal with budget crunches. Now, the Authority is in good financial shape, and an El Paso Inc. article takes a closer look and speaks with CEO Gerald Cichon.
